Island of Murter

Murter island is a smaller island between Zadar and Sibenik (12km long and 2km wide). Because of ita good position near the Kornati islands and a bridge connection with the coast, Murter's harbors - Jezera, Betina, Murter, Tisno - are the most important nautical bases of the Adriatic Sea. It is possible to take a tour around Murter by bicycle and between Tisno and Jezera is a boardwalk passing through the pine wood and along the coast, ideal for a walking or jogging.

Murter is a relatively little island, but there are all sorts of beaches; the most beautiful is the sandy beach of Slanica in the homonyms bay in the northwest of the island. The beaches in Tisno are situated outside of town (1-2km). In the direction of Jezera, along the boardwalk, the beach is rock and partly terraced.

On the other side, in the direction of Betina, is a very nice gravel beach. Near the town of Murter, the beach is mostly with terraces and one small part with gravel. Cruising around the island by boat, on the southern side it’s possible to reach  peaceful bays that aren’t accessible by road.
